Meet Dr. Penny Shepherd

Discovering the Benefits of Chiropractic

Having worked as a chiropractic assistant for 10 years after completing her Bachelor of Science degree at Urbana University, Dr. Penny experienced firsthand the benefits of chiropractic care. She had suffered from asthma, but when she was under care, she no longer had any problems with it. “I felt better than I ever had before.” Chiropractic also allowed her to deliver her two younger sons naturally after having had a C-section with her first son.

Juggling Parenthood With College

After seeing how chiropractic benefited his wife, Dr. Penny’s husband Mark encouraged her to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. She enrolled at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri. Successfully juggling parenting three children with attending her classes, Dr. Penny graduated in three and a half years with honors. Before coming to Dwyer Chiropractic in 2016, she practiced in Pennsylvania prior to moving to Ohio, where she initially ran a practice. She and Mark made the move at the urging of their oldest son who announced that they were going to be grandparents.

Taking Care of Kids and Families

Dr. Penny particularly enjoys helping children and families enjoy optimal health that comes when subluxations are removed, allowing the nervous system to function at its peak.

Enjoying Life in London

When she’s not at the practice, Dr. Penny enjoys spending time with Mark, their three wonderful sons, and two beautiful granddaughters. She loves celebrating with her family and enjoys watching sports, especially football, traveling locally, antiquing and restoring neglected treasures. Like Dr. Heather, she is a member of the local chamber of commerce and the Ohio State Chiropractic Association.
